REDC will be conducting an auction of foreclosed homes in Atlanta on Saturday, September 12th. There are currently 207 bank owned properties (REOs) located in Georgia that are scheduled to be auctioned.

Atlanta ranked 35th in foreclosures for the first half of 2009, according to an article in the Atlanta Business Chronicle. There were 42,799 foreclosure filings in through June 2009, which was an 11.5 percent increase over the same period in 2008.

Georgia ranked 6th in foreclosures according to RealtyTrac’s mid year market report. There were 56,391 foreclosure filings statewide, which represented a 16 percent increase over the same period in 2008.
